Nine volunteers attended Benicia Tree Foundation’s Tree Pruning Clinic at Joe Henderson Elementary School on March 8, 2025. The volunteers arrived at 9:00 AM. After receiving instructions the volunteers had pruned 24 Chinese Pistache by 11:30. Only hand tools were used and no ladders or trees were climbed.
The trees were planted around the playfield by students in 2012. These trees were previously pruned in 2019.
This was the second Tree Pruning Clinic sponsored by the Benicia Tree Foundation this year. The first clinic was held at Liberty High School on February 22. The next Tree Care Day will be at the I-780 westbound offramp at Military West on Saturday, March 29, 2025 where we will weed and mulch 18 trees planted in 2020.
