Second Saturday Tree Care Day in May was a Buffet

Volunteers maintained trees at three project sites.

The Second Saturday Tree Care Day in May was used to maintain trees planted at Benicia State Recreation Area, Mary E. Farmar Elementary School, and Joe Henderson Elementary School.  All the sites were relatively small, but spread out.  BSRA had three separate groups of trees, the Mary Farmar trees were along the driveway and the Henderson trees included eight oaks planted along the trail on the east side of the campus.  The group of 10 volunteers that participated included representation from the Benicia High School Key Club and a local Boy Scout Troop.  Volunteers weeded and watered 42 trees and collectively contributed about 30 volunteer hours.
