For the Birds

The U.S. and Canada have lost nearly one third of their birds since 1970. Trees are one of the most important support systems for local and migratory birds.  The blog of  the Solano County Agriculture Extension Program “Under the Solano Sun” has a recent post by Lanie Keyston, Master Gardener, explaining how we can help birds by planting trees and the benefits birds can then provide us.   Click here to read more.   Lead photo is a Spotted Towhee on a Coast live oak branch in Richmond taken by P.
