Benicia Tree Foundation organized a tree care day on August 9 at our Lake Herman Open Space project for 16 volunteers from the Valero Benicia Refinery . It was a beautiful day to be at the lake. Most of the volunteers were college interns working at the refinery during the summer. Tasks involved checking cages to make sure they were adequately protecting tree saplings. Over 30 tree locations were inspected. Pictures of the event follow.
