The International Society of Arborculture is hoping many Californians will plant a tree between Monday and March 14.
Those days are designated California Arbor Week, said Stephanie Bolmer, communications coordinator for the group.
“Everyone grab a shovel and get ready to plant a tree,” she said.
But Bolmer cautioned that it’s not as easy as digging a hole and sticking a sapling in it.
Planting a tree correctly, she said, takes a little planning and preparation.
