Restoring California’s Trees in the Age of Fire

How scientists are making sure increasingly powerful fires do not wipe out forests forever.

Last spring, a tree-planting crew hiked into the hills near Paradise, California, to take on a challenge:  What’s the best way to replant a forest when it’s vrey likely that it could burn again?  In April, Austin Rempel, senior manager of forest restoration at the non-profit American Forests, traveled to California to assist the Bureau of Land Management with replanting an area like this – a pine plantation – that had been oblierated by the Camp Fire in 2018.  Click here to read further in a recent article posted by Fast Company.
