As we head into the fall and holiday season, there’s one kind of “turkey” you don’t want popping up on your property — Turkey Tail Fungus (Trametes versicolor). These shelf-like conks or mushrooms have an appearance that resembles a turkey’s tail. They are fairly common growths on decaying organic matter. If found on a live tree, this fungi can be an external sign of internal decay.
