What does 1,000 trees planted by volunteers look like in Benicia? Find out by attending an open house on Thursday, June 23 at Benicia High School at 7:00 PM hosted by the Board of Directors of the Benicia Tree Foundation. This one-hour event will start with a review of what Benicia Tree Foundation has accomplished, how they did it, and ideas for moving forward for the next 1,000 trees.
“We have planted trees on every school campus, in parks, on the freeway, in open space and the industrial park” said Alison Fleck, President of the Benicia Tree Foundation. “We want the public will bring their ideas for planting the next 1,000 trees in Benicia.”
The majority of the hour event will be a tour of the 160 trees that have been planted by the foundation on the high school campus. Tour participants will learn about the various tree species that were selected, and how they were planted and maintained.
