Benicia's Annual Tree Challenge - 2013

The 2013 Tree Challenge contest requires contestants to submit six words and a photo of a Benicia tree to become eligible to win a Google Nexus 7 tablet and to receive community recognition. The contest is open to Benicia's middle school and high school aged students.

Trees Pay Us Back

A brochure that highlights the economic benefits of trees in the Northern California Coast Region states that a tree will provide $5,170 in environmental and other benefits over its lifetime. That’s nearly a 460-percent return on investment!

Joe Henderson Elementary Tree Planting Project

A tree planting project is afoot at Joe Henderson Elementary School. The Benicia Tree Foundation has been awarded a grant from CA ReLeaf to support the project that will involve planting 80 trees on the campus.

The final 23 of a total 80 trees were planted on March 20, 2012 by all four First Grade Classes. Stay tuned for future events that will involve maintenance and care of these trees.
